Pragueshorts ve spolupráci s Instituto Cervantes přiváží do Prahy jedinečný výběr argentinských krátkých filmů. Výběr připravila distribuční společnost Marvin&Wayne a představí se v něm filmy výrazných argentinských tvůrců a tvůrkyň, které jsou dokladem rozmanitosti a energie argentinské kinematografie.

Argentinská kinematografie je bohatá na přesně odpozorované příběhy z každodenního života, absurdní komedie, které diváctvo překvapí i potěší, kousavé dialogy, které proniknou do nitra lidské povahy, excentrické postavy, na které jen tak nezapomenete, a odvážné formy posouvající hranice kinematografie. To vše bude k vidění v našem programu.

Představí se filmy, které zkoumají vztahy mezi lidmi z různých kultur a generací a mluvícími různými jazyky, i filmy, které jsou oslavou filmu jako takového. Vyprávěné jsou formou observačního dokumentu, surreálních snových světů, dialogů s filmovou historií i intimních příběhů v první osobě. Některé filmy nás donutí přemýšlet nad naším světem a shledáními, díky nimž dokážeme ocenit krásu a rozmanitost naší planety. Jiné filmy nám zase odhalí čirou krásu filmu jako umělecké formy. Společně pak tvoří bohatý a pestrý obraz současného argentinského krátkého filmu.

This Is Argentine Short Film

We are delighted to collaborate with the Instituto Cervantes, which brings this unique selection of Argentine short films to Prague. Curated by the Marvin&Wayne distribution company, the program showcases works by distinguished directors of Argentine cinema, offering clear evidence of the country’s remarkable cinematic richness and vitality.

Argentine cinema is celebrated for its everyday stories told with sharp observation, absurdist comedy that surprises and delights, biting dialogue that cuts to the heart of human nature, eccentric characters who stay with you long after the screening, and bold formal commitments that push cinematic boundaries. All these hallmarks come together in this carefully selected program.

The selection brings together films that explore human connections across different cultures, languages, and generations, alongside works that celebrate cinephilia itself – featuring narrative shifts toward observational documentary, surrealistic dreamlike worlds, dialogues with film history, and intimate first-person narratives. Some films invite us to reflect on our world and on the encounters that help us appreciate the beauty and plurality of our planet, while others offer a journey into the pure beauty of cinema as an art form. Together, they create a rich and varied portrait of contemporary Argentine short film.
