Tomás během první světové války pohlédl
za oponu zásvětí, když ho výbuch málem
připravil o život. Mladou dívku, kterou v tu
chvíli spatřil, s údivem potkává o půl roku
později, kdy už pracuje jako potulný fotograf
posmrtných snímků. Její nabídka navštívit
nedalekou vesnici plnou mrtvých, s jejichž
pohřbem se musí čekat na jarní tání, je
zárukou slušného výdělku. Již první noc po
příjezdu však Tomás zjišťuje, že něco není
v pořádku…

During the First World War, Tomás peered
behind the curtain to the netherworld when
he was nearly killed by an explosion. Six
months later, he is startled to meet the
young girl he had seen through the curtain
again. He is now trying to eke out a living
as an itinerant post mortem photographer.
The girl invites him to visit a nearby village
– where there are many dead who can only
be buried with the springtime thaw, guaranteeing
good earnings. On the very night of
his arrival, however, Tomás discovers that
something is wrong here…
